2009-06-02-687 River Thames Gatehampton Ferry Cottage nr Goring

The original Thames Towpaths frequently crossed sides and ferries used to link them. The ferries have now all gone, and the Thames Path frequently diverts away from the River. This cottage is at the point where the towpath crossed from the N to the S of the river; nowadays it marks a substantial diversion for the Thames footpath away from the river.
