Holland Park Spring 2010

After a truly dismal winter April 2010 finally came good with a spell of 10 days of uninterrupted fine weather plus a number of other good days as well.
I used the camera to good effect in the parks of West London. In this portfolio I have views of London's Holland Park in the Borough of Kensington.
Having not set foot in the Park for nearly three months I was interested to see that there were four pigs in one of the woodland enclosures. This has been done in order to cleanse the soil of brambles and nettle roots as a first step towards setting up a wild flower meadow. The pigs have proved to be a popular attraction with crowds thronging around their enclosure.
The pigs are one of the traditional English breeds 'English Saddlebacks'; previously known as Wessex Saddlebacks. I would have liked a nice picture of them surrounded by daffodils, this wasn't forthcoming despite waiting for ages, however I did get a few photos with pigs and daffs, which I hope you will enjoy!
