London Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Autumn Colours, Dawn Oct 15th 2009
Although the early morning on October 15th didn't look too promising there was a band of clear sky in the East, and I thought we might just get a fine sunrise. There was a fair sunrise in fact, but after the Sun had cleared some cloud right down on the horizon the light was sensational. It lasted for about half an hour, and gave some of the best views of the Long Water that I've ever seen. I couldn't leave it, the view was so good. In addition to views of the Long Water I also took some photos of Kensington Gardens, the newly installed 'Ibis' statue in Hyde Park, and the Eastern side of the bridge across the lake.
I returned through the parks at around 5:00pm; there was still a tolerable light, and I added a few pictures of the trees starting to assume their Autumn colours and nicely lit by the late afternoon Sun.
