I'm not sure what boat this is, but I took the photo to show how much space was occupied by steam engines and the associated boiler; in some of these boats the steam plant seems to occupy quite 25% of the available space, it also seems to split the passenger accommodation into two distinct parts; however, no doubt it's a welcome source of heat on cold days.
