Buckingham Palace is definitely an early morning subject, the light goes off the famous facade between 10 and 11 in the morning, I pass it before 8 o'clock most mornings when the light is at its best and there is not too much traffic. We came off summer time a few days before I took this photo, this means for me that I'm now seeing the Palace at a slightly later time than I do in the Summer. The low Autumn Sun and the later hour exaggerate the shadows on the facade, and emphasise its features.
Should I paint out that traffic island? I don't like it (and I don't think it serves any useful purpose either, but it is there and taking it away would falsify the image.
