The Grand Bridge at Blenheim
This was designed by Vanbrugh; it was intended to be grander still, but construction was stopped by Sarah, the first Duchess. The lake that it crosses was not there until 50 years later!
I am particularly fond of this bridge in the low winter light; in the hour before sunset the stone takes on this mellow colour which makes it particularly impressive!
