This old cedar tree is, I believe, one of a series of trees planted at the end of the 19th century by the 9th Duke. I've always known it as 'The Echo tree' since if you stand near it and shout towards the bridge you get an echo. I liked the reflection in the calm lake waters today. If you look closely you can see some extreme picnickers!
