2008-02-17-016_1 Blenheim Lake - Blenheim Winter 2008
The island in the Blenheim Lake 'Queen Pool'. This island was created by 'Capability Brown' who designed the Blenheim grounds in the form that they exist today. It is reputed to be on the original causeway across the valley to the former Woodstock Manor which was located on the high ground just to the left of the island. The Manor was demolished when the Palace was built, although Vanbrugh tried to retain it.
